On October 9, 2016, it was reported by The Sunday Gleaner that seven babies had died from an infection during delivery at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital, and days later four more were confirmed dead by the Ministry of Health. The problem is, it was a lie. A total of twenty six babies had died between August and September, a 550 percent increase on what was reported by the ministry.

We expect honesty and full disclosure from our government, and nothing less. Health minister Dr Christopher Tufton must know that the buck stops with him. Not too long ago the previous PNP government was chastised by the JLP for its handling of 25 baby deaths last year, not knowing that karma is a bitch. So now we have a 550 percent lie from the government of Jamaica.
